What a strange time of year this is. I’m in awe of the miracle of extended twilight, struck dumb by the gunmetal texture of the ocean just after the sun dips below the horizon. Also I am aggravated to near homicidal levels by seasonal allergies. I’m sneezy, short of breath, disoriented. My face itches. Even the smallest events feel beyond my control. My unconscious mind is an eavesdropper with pockets full of anonymous tips.

It’s all very Alice in Wonderland right now. Especially with the antihistamines making me float on top of every moment. I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole and when I reappear, one week from tomorrow, it will be my birthday.
