I know it’s not nice to take lots of pictures of people when they first wake up, but everyone looked so lovely this morning at the cabin in Bonny Doon, and I had a 4GB memory card in my camera.

Of course, Joye was awake hours before this picture was taken. Even before the sun rose, Jasper was making his wacky morning rooster noises. That little guy is a handful. Being a mom is round-the-clock exhausting. Three cheers for Joye! And for her baby (who is a scrumptious sack of potatoes).

Let’s not forget about Nathan. Such a sweet dad!

Later, Joye caught his brooding, existential side.

While taking the next photo, I though about how the hands holding Jasper also built a woodshed this week, and filled it with logs for the stove that heats the cabin.
