That was very beautiful, eloquent and wise. I cried as I read it. Not really because I miss my dad, which I do very much, but because of the journey you have gone through and continue to go through. I was very touched by the part where you talked about how Josh was your first friend and that when he talked to you, you could see that he still saw you as a child even when he almost totally forgot who he was. I was also reminded in many ways by your writing of the pure beauty and gentle kindness in the universe that exists in stillness. Our minds and our hearts are probably more vast than we can fathom at once but you do a brilliant job at shedding some light into the swirling abyss we call existence. Thanks Rekabek.

Oh Rekabek, you are amazing. I haven't looked at your blog in some time, but now I've had a wealth of riches to read and see.

You have summarized my current experience, my life as it is, so well... so many of the feelings that I am ashamed of even thinking about are expressed so beautifully here. Is it so wrong to want someone to have peace, even if it means letting them go? No, it's OK to have a lightness of spirit when thinking of their goodbye, because in the end, we don't really grieve for them... we grieve for our own loss.

This line is achingly beautiful:

I learn something new every time, once my heart has come to rest after its disturbance.

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!

time may not heal wounds....but it surely changes the scar tissue...even after 20-some years the unexpected memory tugs at my heart.

I'd never seen photos of your brother before....nice.

Thank you for finding words for the things that leave me speechless. I can't tell you how differently I always view photographs now too. And its this knowledge that makes me believe having beautiful photos of loved ones is something sacred.
