REKABEK.COM is the personal blog of Rebecca Barnes. I’m a photographer/writer/personal assistant/little kid’s companion in Santa Cruz, CA. I like wandering in the forest, eating chocolate ice cream, thinking out loud, reading trashy and un-trashy novels (not much discrimination anymore, I’m afraid), writing stories, making collages, staring off into space, listening to music, and hanging around people who combine the best of weird and sweet.

The kid in the photo above is my nephew Jasper, and he’s my favorite person in the world. That day was Halloween, and he was dressed as a skunk; I was the children’s book character Madeline. As the girls in Madeline say: we love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all we love each other.
